-
Why travel with us?
-
With so much competition in the market, it is difficult to determine which provider should be the right fit for your school. Student Educational Adventures has pioneered the delivery of Asian educational experiences tailored to curriculum and learning objectives since 1999.
-
Our trips are designed to provide students with opportunities they could not experience by any other means. All our trips are run by our own full time, in-country staff (not foreigners flown in at your school’s expense) who are responsible for your group’s well-being throughout your trip.
-
We maintain accurate student specific risk assessments and can provide you with references from teachers that have travelled with us.
-

-
Only Asia
-
Unlike other student travel providers, we don’t profess to be able to run truly immersive educational experiences throughout the world – only in Asia (Southeast & Northeast Asia to be precise) where we have our own, full time local staff and in-country managers.
-
Our trips aim to highlight the diversity within and between the countries of Asia and endeavour to facilitate students’ knowledge, offering local insights, immersive experiences and access to communities, schools and activities not available to any other service provider.
-

-

-
Real service - learning
-
An overseas travel experience is a dynamic facet of education that requires considerable thought and preparation if it is to be a worthwhile undertaking.
-
Service-learning unfortunately, is often included in school trips as an afterthought or a necessary activity that a school needs to comprise, rather than a meaningful, educative experience that if done properly, has the potential to be a life changing.
-
Student Educational Adventures designs programs to awaken students to notions of global citizenship and help instigate the life long process of understanding the complex issues of inequality, social justice and development. This in turn can equip students to respond to complex situations in a manner that can teach compassion, solidarity and dignity.
-
Travelling students need to be in the moment; the value of a successful service – learning program is about the knowledge students’ gain and the in-sights they attain, not only about what they have done.
-
We cannot predict a student’s experiences or the outcomes we wish them to have – these will be personal.
-
One cannot track gratitude or what has been learned, nor can we expect a certain response to an experience however wonderful we intend it to be.
-
A worthwhile student travel experience will include authentic interaction with contemporaries. Such contact can be pivotal in students’ attitudes to developmental issues, life experiences and perceptions of other cultures.
-
A student travel program must encourage unsolicited reflection, compelling students to actively question the value of their trip as a result of a series of often momentary and out of comfort-zone experiences.
